How to Rev Up Your Engine

Don Loyd

I often ask my new protégées, “How much income do you want?” It’s not uncommon for them to respond with $100,000 a year. To which I routinely ask, “You don’t really believe you can make that much money, do you?”

The answer, more often than not, is, “Well, no, not really.”

Will those whom believe in their heart they can only earn $30,000 a year consistently earn $100,000?

No!

Never!!

Henry Ford said it well when he said, “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.”

This principle is not limited to money or business success. It’s applicable across the board of human experience. We feel comfortable only when we perform or live within our belief system.

Auto-suggestion is simply a way to reprogram your thoughts. If you are religious or spiritual, you might call it meditation.

I’m a Christian so I meditate on Scripture that on which reinforces where I believe God would have me focus.

For example, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Or, “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.”

How about, “If there be any virtue, if there be any praise . . . think on these things.”

These passages, and many others, addresses positive reinforcement . I can focus my attention and thought on them.

What is the result of this kind of exercise? Positively worded daily scripts (auto-suggestions) will re-program your mind to accept a new reality about yourself.

Do you want to change your reality? Then change your focus.

If you think things like, “I am not creative,”…“I am not happy,” …“I am poor,” …“I am unhealthy,” you are training yourself to feel comfortable with those realities.

Here’s the bottom line: Whatever you think, you are. Richard Bach suggests that if you argue for your limitations … sure enough, they’re yours.”

Your subconscious will faithfully embrace whatever you feed it.

If you want to create the life you desire, or live your life with specific purpose, fill your mind with statements (or scripture, or prayer, etc.) that reinforce the new reality.

You have the power to re-direct your mind. Think about it! You have the power to set a new course for your life. The question is, will you?

This is Don Loyd saying – Make it a great day and a great new reality.
